charles:25.04.2006 um 05:25Is it time for a “Man in Black” category yet?
(or maybe “25 Minutes to go”… more punk rock ;-)
Just say NO to Tractors!

charles:10.04.2006 um 00:32I was afraid I would come off as a killjoy.
I wouldn’t say that movies should be completely original and non-allegorical (is that even possible?), just that the way we talk about US politics is in a deep rut, and that even non-political subjects are getting dragged into that same rut. That said, grab some popcorn and watch it for the nifty fight scenes, sure!

Charles:09.06.2005 um 16:23I’m just going to keep adding these as I see them. There are a lot of articles like this lately.
“TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa Zoo will add a display featuring the biblical account of creation following complaints to a city board about other displays with religious significance, including a Hindu elephant statue.”
…
“I see this as a big victory,” said Dan Hicks, the Tulsa resident who approached the zoo with the idea. “It’s a matter of fairness. To not include the creationist view would be discrimination.”As I’ve said above, equal time is not how science is “fair”. OBJECTIVITY is how it is fair. But since we’ve tossed that out the window, maybe I can get my Sentient Lizards from Space theory displayed, too!!

Charles:08.06.2005 um 18:35In case that wasn’t enough for you, here are some more of Mr. Cyclotouriste’s postings.
” I was putting together exactly such an attack myself, and was considering doing it myself. I was looking into getting flight lessons. I had located a site where explosives could be stolen. I was putting together plans to load a cargo plane with fifty-five-gallon-drums of gasoline and the explosives.
…
But the provocations stopped for a while, and my motivation to annihilate them lessened over time. “

Charles:07.04.2005 um 05:29If it was chemicals, keep taking them ;-)
I was thinking about this, too, while I was writing this article. Particularly the “under what conditions would I choose not to be revived” part. Would I be qualified to make this kind of decision in the state of mind I’d be in if I were in agony? On the other hand, am I really qualified to make that decision now, in total comfort?
As for the question you pose, I wouldn’t rule out that it might be both free will AND a chemical reaction in your brain. The source of ‘intention’ is murky, but it may have been the catalyst for that brain chemistry change.

Charles:04.04.2005 um 21:08Now that you mention it, I think Claudia threatened him with a screwdriver trying to get him to turn it down…

Charles:04.04.2005 um 20:43Andres, do you remember who that canadian guy was who we worked with uptown? The one who ended up in the tombs because he jumped a turnstyle or something? That was when I first started with you guys, I should have known right then…

Jens, I know what you mean. I practically had a nervous breakdown in 5th grade over a report that I couldn’t finish on time.
But now, writing for Spreeblick, things like “deadlines” are in my past!

Katharina, thanks for being an attentive reader!
That does make the theory a little wobbly… maybe the effects are only seen in certain clubs for some reason (this paper refers to the UEFA).
But hey, why let a little data get in the way of a good theory? ;-)
